An in-browser playground and evaluation of the Frictionless Data ecosystem — no servers, no accounts.
A dated research artefact — what we found in 2026, against
frictionless 5.19.0 on Pyodide 0.27.7.
Run it
A Monaco editor, a virtual filesystem, and a shell wired to
Pyodide, so the frictionless CLI runs entirely in your
browser. Eight lessons walk the full toolchain.
The findings
Is Frictionless a fit? A short deck distilling what worked, the sharp edges we hit, and the domain-fitness question still open for v1.1.
A research artefact for evaluating Frictionless as one data-validation option among several. The strategy is build-it-to-learn-it: forcing a working IDE and an eight-lesson curriculum into existence is itself the research method. Each lesson carries a Notes & Observations section recording what worked, what surprised, and what required a workaround.
